The Book Club

We believe in the power of reading to alleviate loneliness, so what better way of making that happen than setting up our own book club? You can find all of the information you need about The Book Club on this page. This will be a space for all to connect through the shared experience of reading. There are a wealth of benefits of joining a reading group: 84% of members feel more connected to other people because of being part of a reading group, according to research from the Reading Agency. At House of Books & Friends, it is so important to us to create connections within the community, especially through the power of reading.

Our book club will be a monthly, ticketed event which will usually take place at the end of every month. This month, we will be reading THE FUGITIVES by Jamal Mahjoub. There will be three different sessions, to better accommodate different needs:

On Tuesday, 28th February, the evening book club will take place in store from 6-7pm. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

On Thursday, 2nd March, the afternoon book club will take place in store from 2-3pm CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

On Thursday, 2nd March, the online book club will take place on Zoom from 7-8pm. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

If you can’t make any of these sessions, we will be publishing some guidelines on how to safely run your own book club – watch this space!

If you’re worried about coming alone to the book club, please get in touch and we can assist you.
