What’s On in the Community: Summer 2023

Are you struggling for ideas of what to do this summer? Want to stay close to home but still have fun? Look no further! We have compiled some activities on offer this summer, some for kids and some for adults. Take a look at the list below, and please visit each event’s website for more details and information.

Feel Good Family Picnic

Organised by the council team behind Rochdale Feel Good Festival, the Feel Good Family Picnic promises days of fun activities for children of all ages, completely free.  

Falinge Park, Rochdale25 July 2023, 11-4pm

Hare Hill Park, Littleborough27 July 2023,11-4pm 

Bolton Food and Drink Festival

With appearances from James Martin, Gok Wan, Nisha Katona and free children’s activities.

25 August – 28 August

Manchester International Festival 

Manchester International Festival runs every two years and is a festival of brand new global artistic work , that’s ran since 2007. A variety of plays, exhibitions and performances are on offer – view the website for more details.

29 June – 16 July, with various exhibitions running longer.

Manchester Pride

Part of a global movement celebrating LGBT+ equality, Manchester Pride brings thousands of people to the city every year. There are a variety of events, some of which are free to attend. Check out the website for more details.

Robin Hood Outdoor Theatre

An outdoor theatre production of Robin Hood on Holcombe Hill, suitable for kids ages 5+. Tickets from £9!

18 August 

The Tiger Who Came To Tea Trail

An adventure trail in Tatton Park, Knutsford, in their beautiful spring gardens. At £2 per person, it’s an affordable option for the family.

1 April – 3 September 

Colours Festival

30+ street artists from around the world have contributed to paintings, photography and illustrations that have made this Manchester’s most colourful street art experience! More information on tickets is on the website.
