Children’s Writing Workshop

As part of our summer holiday events for children, House of Books & Friends are hosting a writing workshop on Monday 31st July! Split into two parts, the workshop will take place from 11:00-14:30 in store. 

Children will learn about the creation of characters, how to show not tell, world-building, and how characters can interact with each other, with our bookseller Lucy. This is the perfect activity for voracious readers and budding writers! There will be lots of fun activities to spark creativity and the opportunity for children to share their work in a supportive environment. 

There will be a break for lunch between 12:00-13:30. Lunch will not be provided, but we do sell sandwiches in our café, subject to availability. 

Suitable for children 9-14 years old. 1 ticket per child.  Adults accompanying children are welcome to sit in on the event or browse in the shop, but children must not be left alone unsupervised – adults must remain in the building.
