Inspiring Leadership Podcast – James Timpson ‘The Happy Index’

On the 14th of February, James Timpson, the CEO of Timpsons, and Darryl Cooke, the founder of Gunnercooke, will be in conversation about James’ new book, The Happy Index. Structured through ten lessons which examine and evaluate the top-down style of management, James’ book explores how business can be made more collaborative. Using an upside-down method, where the team you work with feel valued, trusted, and important, James offers enlightening insight into this new way of working. As the CEO of such a well-known, trusted family business, James knows a thing or two about success.

About James Timpson

James Timpson has been CEO of Timpson for over 20 years. During this time, he has transformed the five-generation family business into the modern-day enterprise that it is today, all while becoming increasingly admired for his groundbreaking, people-first, upside-down style of management.

James is also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust. He supports various prison charities and support groups and was presented with an OBE in 2011 for the training and employment of disadvantaged people. He is a former Tate Trustee, a Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire, and an Albert Medal winner from the RSA.
