Our bookseller Lily has recently finished This Strange Eventful History by Claire Messud, and couldn't wait to tell you all about it:

'A tapestry of a novel weaved together through scraps of memory brought out from the author's attic to imagine how three generations of the Cassar family lived from the second world war to the 21st century.
A slow burn that is superbly crafted and sure to creep up on you!'
